Thank you for your support. I’m happy you are here!
I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with more than 18 years of experience and a passion for nutritional care in dementia. I spent the first decade of my career in long-term and memory care as a specialist in gerontological nutrition. As a result, I gained skills to help people maintain independence in eating, prevent weight loss and improve nutrition status.
During my time in memory care, my own grandmother began her journey with Alzheimer’s. After seeing that firsthand, I am passionate about helping families through the challenges with nutrition and hydration in dementia. I believe in dining with dignity, independence in eating and quality of life with food.
Mealtime challenges and food-related issues in early stages of dementia often differ from the struggles that may happen as dementia progresses. Food preferences change, poor acceptance of food occurs and many will have weight loss. I am here to give you more solutions than the standard advice of a ‘nutritional shake’ caregivers often get.
I am here to help you adapt to these changes and find solutions that work best for your loved one with dementia. Each person is unique and nutrition solutions are never a one-size-fits-all process! I’ll be here to walk beside you and help make feeding your loved one with dementia a little bit easier.
Thank you for visiting! And most of all, thank you for the love and dedication you give to our friends and loved ones with dementia.
